The Latest News from KTVJ Treasure Valley
In accordance with FCC Major Modification Application 0000251847 granted on October 3, 2024, KTVJ has officially completed its technical transition to enhance service to the Treasure Valley.
Technical Transition Details:
KTVJ has successfully relocated its physical broadcast frequency from VHF Channel 6 to UHF Channel 26. Along with this frequency move, the station has increased its Effective Radiated Power (ERP) from 3 kW to 15 kW, significantly improving signal penetration and indoor reception throughout Boise, Nampa, and Meridian.
With our new UHF Channel 26 at 15 kW from Deer Point now fully licensed and on the air, reception is stronger and more reliable than ever — especially indoors. Here’s exactly how to lock in Channel 3 (virtual) in Boise, Nampa, Meridian, and surrounding areas.

These tips apply to the entire Treasure Valley. The new UHF signal reaches much farther and penetrates buildings better than the old VHF Channel 6 ever did.
KTVJ-TV officially commenced broadcasting on November 5, 2021, bringing quality local and national programming to the region.
